So you are at skeptico --- or perhaps you ARE skeptico ( Alex Tsakiris )?
As one who has seen both Fundamentalist Christianity and Atheism from the inside, Troy Conrad is well qualified to speak about both. He's doing an excellent job using his imagination to heal the schism between believers and skeptics. If there's any chance at all of that being accomplished, it is certainly through humor. That doesn't mean that I'm convinced that near-death experiences and deathbed visions are anything other than figments of our ordinary imaginations -- even though I would dearly like to believe that they are signs pointing towards presently unknown realities.

Thanks Moebius. No, I'm not Alex, I just work for Alex. But I agree that Troy is well qualified to speak about this topic, he's a very bright and funny
guy.

Here's the real Axle of Skeptico ( around whom WC revolves ) -- and ( it is to be hoped! ) WC very slowly evolves... | ||

Perhaps WC should quit and go to work for Troy instead... unless a psychic dog advises him to do otherwise.

Sure, it's easy to find a hit piece on anybody. There are plenty out there on Alex, but as usual the skeptical community is not the most honest community
ever. The funny thing is, he get the best guests very often, the only people who are talking trash are the ones sitting in their armchairs doing nothing first
hand. Always the same story with that crowd. Do your research on who wrote that article and why.

The research that really matters is the research that shows that naked apes still prefer wild fantasies to inconvenient facts. And as long as that is the case,
there will be troops of naked apes such Alex J & Alex T & WC who will be quick to cash in on their opportunity to make fast bucks. But they will have
to fight tooth and nail with plenty of competitors. May the best opportunist --- possibly the one first equipped with the latest wave ( Google Wave ) -- win.

The research that really matters is the research that shows that naked apes still prefer wild fantasies to inconvenient facts. I'm pretty sure that nobody over at sketiko questions evolution or indulges in fantasy, everything is science based there. And as long as that is the case, there will be troops of naked apes such Alex J & Alex T & WC who will be quick to cash in on their opportunity to make fast bucks. Alex J? Jones maybe? Well, I don't see what he has to do with any of this. As far as money goes, I don't believe Skeptiko makes money from anybody, they don't sell anything. If you noticed in the article you posted about Alex, he wanted to bypass the reward money for the Randi experiment. Why would he do that? Because he doesn't need it. Skeptiko is not about money and has nothing to sell you. Alex funds science research not the other way around. I can't speak for Alex J because I don't know the guy but Alex T is not an opportunist and does not make money from his en-devours. If you think he does, prove it.

So how does he make his money? Is he independently wealthy?

I believe so, yes.
