So last year we had an unworthy winner in Lewis Hamilton, who was gifted the championship through pathetic negativity. He only needed to finish a paltry 5th, and oddly enough aimed his race strategy to do just that. Only he wasn't going to manage it until Timo Glock moved over for him - and because it wasn't team orders nothing could be done about it.
So the announcement that the championship would be decided on race wins, with points as a tiebreaker, I viewed with skeptical optimism. I want people to race for wins first and foremost, but how bad would it e if the championship was decided half way through? After changing the points to make it closer for longer, this 180 degree U-turn smacks of desperation.
In any case, it has been shelved for a year. How the FIA believed it was OK to pronounce this drastic change just 10 days before the start of the season though is beyond me.
