Started having a problem on thursday. Thought it was broadband but it's not, it's the laptop apparently. The broadband is working and thus |I'm
connected with the old steam engine with less memory than a pocket calculator which is running slower than an arthritic tortoise.
Basically the laptop says it's connected but trying to "repair" the connection says it can't clear the DNS cahche. the connectivity test says
there's a problem with the DNS server but it must be the laptop since the broadband is working weith another computer.
I haven't installed anything or changed any settings such as firewall or browser, but I can't get to any websites or get messenger on (though the Yahoo
messenger seems to connect and the Norton antivirus also seems to).
If anyone has any fucking idea what the problem is, please tell me, or I'll have to take it down to the shop for my mate James to look at.
I'm climbing the waals here. For the sake of my sanity and the young ears of my son, please help!
